Captain N.S. Mohan Ram (OENA/1958)
Mohan Ram Needamangalam Srinivasan is a dynamic professional - originally a Naval Architect, then Warship Designer, Project Engineer, Foundry Specialist, Steel Maker and currently in Automotive Engineering. He retired prematurely in the rank of Captain Indian Navy, after twenty years of service. Mohan is at present advisor in TVS Motor Company Limited.
Mr. Debnarayan Bhattacharya (CH/1969/ VS)
Mr. D. Bhattacharya is a business leader heading Global Metals business of Aditya Birla Group with a turnover of approximately Rs. 62,000 crores. Mr. Bhattacharya’s vision and leadership has transformed Hindalco Industries from a single location, India centric, commodity Aluminum producer to a global, non ferrous metal major in a short span of 10 years through strategic expansion and acquisition.

Mr. Nrupender Rao is the Chairman of Pennar Group of Companies. By setting up industries employing over 2000 people and introducing new technologies and products into the country he has made a mark for himself in the industrial field.
Dr. Amit Roy (CH /1970)
Dr. Amit Roy has been the president and chief executive officer of President and CEO of International Fertilizer Development Center since 1992. Dr. Roy’s vision and commitment to agricultural research, particularly during the past 20 years when funding for such efforts was drastically reduced, is noteworthy.
Prof. B.C. NAKRA (M.Tech. ME/ 1961/ Gokhale)
Professor Bahadur Chand Nakra specializes in Vibration Engineering & Machine Dynamics, Instrumentation & Controls. Born on March 31, 1939, he did B.Sc Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, and was awarded a Gold medal for being first in all branches of Engineering (and also an all-rounder Gold medal). He did his M.Tech in Machine Design from I.I.T. Kharagpur and Ph.D. from Imperial College of Science and Technology, London.
Dr. Samit K. Bhattacharyya (ME/ 1968/ Patel)
Dr. Samit K. Bhattacharyya is an internationally recognized expert in the field of nuclear technology and applications. His contributions include leadership of nuclear critical experimental programs that characterized the physics and safety of fast-breeder reactor systems, design and construction of an advanced transient test reactor and design and development of nuclear and renewable energy systems for terrestrial and space applications. He is an international authority on space nuclear power and propulsion technologies.
Prof. Lallit Anand (ME/1970)
Lallit Anand is the Rohsenow Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the MIT.He has a highly distinguished record of research accomplishments in Continuum Mechanics and Materials Science. In his research he has been attracted to topics related to the development of continuum-level theories of inelastic deformation and failure for a wide variety of engineering materials, including polycrystalline metals, granular materials, and polymers
C. N. Raghavendran (ARP /1966)
Shri C. N. Raghavendran is a practicing Architect and Partner of M/s. C. R. Narayana Rao (CRN), a firm of Architects & Engineers based in Chennai. As one of the Partners of CRN since 1968, Shri Raghavendran has provided the leadership and is significantly responsible in making CRN one of the largest and most successful firms in India today. He has also been a mentor and inspiration to many young Architects and Engineers entering the profession in addition to the third generation of the founder’s family who are now part of the practice.

Satyen Mukherjee is currently Chief Scientist and Senior Director at Philips Research North America, Briarcliff Manor, New York. Dr. Mukherjee’s current areas of interest include, lighting controls systems and building wide energy management systems including HVAC and appliances and is engaged in promoting energy efficiency technologies with the US federal and state agencies

Prof. Kalyanmoy Deb (ME /1985 / Nehru)
Professor Kalyanmoy Deb is Professor of Mechanical Engineering of IIT Kanpur and the Director of the Kanpur Genetic Algorithms Laboratory which he established in 1997 and also the Head, Centre for Development of Technical Education since 2009. He has uniquely and most distinctly contributed to the development, advancement and application of evolutionary multi-criterion optimization (EMO) in engineering, sciences and commerce.

Dr. Kaushik Roy is Roscoe H. George Chair Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Purdue University. His areas of interest are Communications, Networking, Signal & Image Processing and VLSI and Circuit Design and research areas are Low-power electronics, Scaled CMOS devices and circuits, Silicon and Non-Silicon Nanoelectronics, process variations and design with unreliable components, VLSI signal processing.

Professor Biswapriya Sanyal is the Ford International Professor of Urban Development and Planning, MIT. He is the Director, Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program at MIT administered by the Institute of International Education, U.S. State Department since 2004
Professor Ramchandra Prabhakar Gokarn (OENA/62/Patel)
Professor R.P. Gokarn is renowned as an excellent teacher. In his long teaching career at IIT Kharagpur spanning nearly four decades, he inspired a whole generation of Indian Naval Architects. Professor Gokarn continues to be associated with the National Ship Design and Research Centre (now Indian Maritime University, Visakhapatnam Centre), and also with the Indian Register of Shipping.
Prof. Ned Mohan (EE/1967/Azad)
Professor. Ned Mohan is Oscar A. Schott Professor of Power Electronic Systems, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. His research and education interest are in the broad field of electric energy systems. Prof. Mohan joined the University of Minnesota in 1976 and continuing there till present in teaching and research. Prof. Mohan is a Morse-Alumni Distinguished Professor and a member of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers at the University of Minnesota.
Saumyendra Nath Brahmachary (ME/1968/Azad)
Srimat Saumyendra Nath Brahmachary is the present Acharya (spiritual head) of Dev Sangha, a spiritual centre located at Deoghar, Jharkhand. He is Soumen, Soumendra Chandra Mukhopadhyay -- the ace footballer from Azad Hall and captain of the IIT Kharagpur football squad; the department topper in Mechanical Engineering and, of course, the B. C. Roy Gold Medalist of the 1968 batch.
Prof. Bhubaneswar Misra (E& ECE / 1980 / RK)
Professor Bhubaneswar Misra is the Professor of Computer Science, Mathematics (Courant, NYU), and Cell Biology (School of Medicine, NYU). He is known for pioneering new disciplines and technologies - the first verification tool for hardware design, detecting a timing bug in Seitz’s self-timed queue element; a new graph-algorithmic paradigm based on Tutte’s theory of bridges, applied to finding sneak-paths in CMOS; first algorithms for grasp planning, extended to many other applications in manufacturing; the first single-molecule technologies to accurately map genomes (“Optical Mapping”);the first single-molecule haplotyping algorithm HAPTIG, etc.
Prof. Ramesh Kumar Agarwal (ME/68/VS)
Professor R K Agarwal is the William Palm Professor of Engineering, Washington University, Director, Aerospace Engineering Program (WUSTL) and MO Statewide Aerospace Research and Education Center. Dr. Agarwal is an eminent aeronautical scientist of international reputation worthy of recognition.
Prof. Jammi Srinivasa Rao (ME – M.Tech./63, Ph.D./65, D.Sc./71)
Professor J. S. Rao is currently Chief Science Officer, Altair Engineering Bangalore and President of The Vibration Institute of India. His research areas are Vibrations, Turbomachine Blade Aero and Structural Dynamics, Rotor Dynamics, CFD, Life Estimation, Fusion Reactor design. Over the last 40 years significant original contributions have been made in the field of general machine.
Prof. Mahinder Kumar Jain (Maths / 1963)
In 1965, Professor Jain was faculty with an illustrious teaching and research experience of 52 years. He held various administrative positions at IIT Delhi wherein he initiated both teaching and research programme in numerical analysis. His field of specialization is Computational Fluid Mechanics and Numerical Solution of Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations. He developed the Compact Implicit Finite Difference methods (1989).
Prof. P. K. Rajagopalan (Ph.D/EE/1959)
Parandur Krishnamachari Rajagopalan was Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Kharagpur. His areas of interest are Control Systems, Electrical Machines and Drives and Measurements and Measuring Instruments. Prof. Rajagopalan was associated with the M.Tech. programme in Control System from its inception in 1958 for development of curricula and laboratories. His subjects were Linear Systems, Nonlinear Systems and Stochastic Systems.
Prof. Braj Bhushan Pandey (CE/1961/RK)
Professor B B Pandey is faculty at the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kharagpur. He was also the HoD (1993-96). His research areas are materials for roads and airports, Design of Flexible and Rigid Pavements, Finite Element Analysis of Pavements, Visco-elasticity, Traffic Engineering, Stochastic Design of Pavements, Road of failure investigation, Recycling of pavement materials.
